Shop Scale made of Antique Brass and Iron -

As once used by grocers and butchers. This is a ‘Patent Agate Balance’ made by W & T Avery of Birmingham - perhaps around 1880. It measures 33.5 inches high and 26.5 inched wide. These were made in several sizes. This one is ‘To Weigh 10 LB’. Fair condition for its age. A very decorative piece. Very cheap at this price because I am moving.
