Japanese Shishi Protector ?

PERFECT CONDITION It is with a heavy heart that I put our beloved ‘Shishi’ up for sale. We are relocating internationally and unfortunately cannot take it with us. We brought it over from Western Japan (Ishikawa Prefecture), our former home and home of the infamous ‘Kutaniyaki’ pottery. This Shishi is the genuine Kutaniyaki Shishi. Place it in the entrance of your house and it will protect you from evil and unwanted spirits. Shishi is translated as "lion” but it can also refer to a deer or dog with magical properties and the power to repel evil spirits. A pair of shishi traditionally stands guard outside the gates of Japanese Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples. Stand: 39 x 25 x 5 cm Shishi: 32 cm high Pickup only
